Security is built into the connection flow. Every new computer must be explicitly approved on your device before it can connect. Access is tied to the device's IP address, so only machines you've personally approved can use your camera — no unexpected connections. Secure communication requires the companion app, available on the download page.
MJPEG streaming works great up to 720p. For Full HD (1080p) and 4K, hardware encoding (H.264) is required — pushing uncompressed high-resolution video over MJPEG generates significant heat and can cause performance issues on your device. Hardware encoding keeps things fast, cool, and stable. For the same reason, MJPEG streams are capped at 30 FPS.
Up to two viewers can connect at the same time, and the app automatically adjusts the limit to keep streaming smooth: 4K streams allow one connection, while 1080p at 60 FPS and MJPEG streams allow two. Any extra client is politely refused until a slot frees up. Raising the limit beyond one connection is part of the Security upgrade, where the connection controls live.
MJPEG streams and visual effects like Background Blur or Color Splash automatically cap the frame rate at 30 FPS to keep your phone cool and the stream stable. 60 FPS is available with hardware encoding enabled and heavy effects turned off — the frame-rate picker itself is part of the Pro Resolution upgrade.
Free gives you full webcam streaming at 720p / 30 FPS with a small watermark. The Pro Resolution one-time unlock adds 1080p & 4K, higher stream quality and bitrate, 60 FPS, Ultra Wide & Telephoto lenses, image adjustments, and watermark removal. The Security one-time unlock adds device pairing and up to two simultaneous connections. The Effects Pass covers visual effects — Background Blur, Skin Smooth, Vignette, Spotlight, and Color Splash.
SuperCam Studio is currently available for iOS and Windows. The Windows app is now in beta, enabling direct integration without needing OBS. Join the beta to get early access and the latest updates.
SuperCam Studio does not require an account to use the app. But to enable Beta or Special Features, you need to register yourself. The app also collects anonymous crash reports and usage analytics to help us improve stability — this data never includes your camera feed or video content.
